As an older subdivision of Saskatoon, Buena Vista makes for an ideal location being close to downtown Saskatoon, 8th Street, Meewasin Trails, Lorne Avenue, Circle Drive, and a number of parks and schools.
With the majority of residential construction completed before 1946, this neighbourhood is becoming home to a number of infill projects due to the age and structural integrity of some of the homes in the neighbourhood. Estimated population in 2015 was 3,266 residents with 76.6% of those residents owning their homes.
Buena Vista is full of charm, with it’s variety of styles of homes, including those on the prestigious streets such as Saskatchewan Crescent West, and Poplar Crescent. Families who live in Buena Vista enjoy the many walking trails, paddling pool, playgrounds, picnic areas, and wildlife spotting along the river.
Buena Vista school is the only school in the neighbourhood, but facilities for soccer, baseball, skating, and indoor activities are available through the Buena Vista Community Association.
Green space includes Gabriel Dumont Park, Atchison Field (where the Saskatoon Hilltops Football Team practises), Fred Mitchell Memorial Park, and all of the greenery along the South Saskatchewan River trails.
