The City of Martensville is located about 19 kilometers North of Saskatoon and is home to approximately 9,650 residents (and climbing). It was incorporated into a village in in 1966 and has grown since then, gaining city status in 2009. Sometimes referred to as a “bedroom community” of Saskatoon, Martensville was incorporated as a village in 1966 and as a town three years later in 1969. Sewer and water was established in 1976 with the town experiencing accelerated growth, and it was finally incorporated as a city in 2009.
There are five schools in Martensville. The city is served by three public elementary schools, one catholic elementary school and one high school in the Prairie Spirit School Division. Valley Manor Elementary School is located on the south side of Martensville, while Venture Heights Elementary School and the Martensville High School are both located on the north side. Lake Vista Public School most recently opened in 2018 and is located in the new Lake Vista neighborhood.
Martensville offers all amenities with the exception of a hospital. As the city continues to grow, it retains its “small town” feel but offers its residents an increasing amount of recreational programs, facilities, business opportunities, services, events, and recreation.
