Riversdale is said to be one of Saskatoon’s up and coming neighbourhoods. Located near the South Saskatchewan river on the West side of Saskatoon and situated near the Central Business District, Riversdale offers residents convenience and abundance of activities. The population of Riversdale is approximately 2,750 and is one of Saskatoon’s oldest and historic neighbourhoods, with construction primarily between 1910 – 1960.
Princess Alexandra Community School is the only school in the neighbourhood, but there are many amenities for families including just under 45 acres of parks and green space, River Landing, multiple playgrounds, facilities for tennis, basketball and baseball, a skate-park, and Riversdale Pool.
You’ll enjoy the independently owned shops on 20th Street West, which has a similar feel to Broadway Avenue and has been rejuvenated in recent years. The Farmers Market, Midtown Plaza and retail in the downtown core all offer something for everyone, and restaurants are abundant in the area. Being so close to the Meewasin trails along the river, the new art gallery (Remai Modern), and easy access to arterial roads like 22nd Street West and Idylwyld Drive provide for quick trips to any area of the city.
