Welcome to the Sutherland Neighbourhood of Saskatoon
Sutherland is home to approximately 5,550 residents and is one of Saskatoon’s oldest neighbourhoods. Developed beginning in the early 1900’s, there’s alot of history in the Sutherland neighbourhood, which used to be it’s own village. With easy access to the University of Saskatchewan, Preston Crossing, and University Heights, Sutherland is an attractive place to live for numerous reasons. The neighbourhood offers a variety of housing types and you’ll find a higher number of residents who rent their homes.
There are two schools in Sutherland being Bishop Filevich Ukrainian Bilingual School and Sutherland School, and The University of Saskatchewan is only a few minutes away. The surrounding neighbourhoods like College Park and Forest Grove offer more options for schooling.
There are just over 26 acres of park and green space, not including the Sutherland Dog Park which forms part of the Meewasin Trails nearby. Amenities are abundant with facilities for soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball and an indoor rink. There are playgrounds, walking trails, a tobogganing hill, and even a paddling pool. There are no shortage of commercial and retail centres and stores in Sutherland. You won’t have to go far for groceries, gas, or other services.
