Avalon is located in Saskatoon’s South-Central and borders the Queen Elizabeth and Adelaide/Churchill neighbourhoods. Although Avalon was annexed by the City of Saskatoon between 1910 and 1919, home construction did not begin until after WWII. There are approximately 3,425 residents in the neighbourhood.
John Lake School and Georges Vanier School accommodate the children of the neighbourhood, with parks and playgrounds nearby, an off-leash dog park, walking paths, and sports facilities, a paddling pool, and the Avalon Shopping Centre, which is located on the corner of Broadway Avenue and Cascade Street.
Residents of Avalon have easy access to Circle Drive, downtown Saskatoon, Sakatoon Golf & Country Club, The Western Development Museum, Prairieland Park, and are just a short drive away from the popular Cranberry Flats Conservation Area.
